The Coaches  
         


    Deanna Stewart - Varsity Head Coach
                                 

Coach Stewart is entering her tenth year as a member of
the Harrison Fast Pitch Softball program and her second
as Head Coach.  She previously was the Head Softball
Coach at Sunnyside High School in Tucson, Arizona 
from 1994-1997 and was an Assistant Coach for Central
Arizona College in 1991.  She played at Cal-State Fullerton 
from 1988-1990 and was a member of the Central Arizona
College 1988 National Championship Team. 

Coach Stewart earned her Bachelor of Science degree
from University of Arizona and earned her Master’s
degree from Kennesaw State University.

 

 


                                            Olivia Petersen -  Varsity Coach


Coach Petersen returns for her fourth year of being
a part of the Harrison fast pitch program.  She played
fast pitch, basketball, and threw shot put at Harrison. 
She was a Harrison Graduate in 1996. Coach Petersen
received a basketball scholarship to Catawba College
in Salisbury, NC and graduated from Catawba College
in 2000 with a BA in Health/Physical Education. She
received a MS in Physical Education from Jacksonville
State University in May 2007 and got married over
the summer in June. She and her husband Corey reside
in Hiram with their yellow lab Duke.

 

 


Matt Jones - Varsity Coach

                                         

Coach Jones graduated from Harrison in 1999 and then
attended Berry College for two years and finished his
degree at Kennesaw State University with a degree in
health and physical education.  He is beginning his
third year teaching at Harrison and 2nd year coaching
softball.  Coach Jones played baseball for seven years and
has played softball for the last eight years.  Coach Jones
also coaches boys basketball and girls soccer at Harrison. 

 

 


Melissa Wilson - JV Coach

Coach Wilson is a returning Hoya to the fastpitch program. 
As a 1998 HHS graduate, she played varsity basketball and
fast pitch, in its inaugural season.  After high school, Coach
Wilson pursued her studies at the University of Georgia. 
While in college, she worked as a lay coach with the Clarke
Central fast pitch team.  She graduated from the University
of Georgia in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Social
Science Education.  Currently, Coach Wilson is working
on a Masters of Science in Instructional Systems, with a
major in open and distance learning, at Florida State University
and a Gifted Endorsement through the University of Georgia. 
She is returning for her second year coaching
fast pitch and also coaches basketball and lacrosse at Harrison


Melissa LeComte- JV Coach

 

Melissa LeComte graduated from Harrison in 2000. 
She was a member of the fastpitch program from
1996-2000. After high school, Melissa played softball
at Georgia State University.  She graduated from Georgia
State in 2005 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Art
Education and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Ceramics
with a minor in Psychology.  Melissa currently teaches
Art at J.J. Daniell Middle School and was formerly a JV
coach at Walton High School.
